Nadine was born and raised in rural Washington County, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and moved to Colorado to start a life for herself. Eventually, through a camping trip to Rifle, Nadine fell in love with the western slope and settled in Grand Junction, Colorado. It was at the Grand Junction Seventh-day Adventist Church that Nadine accepted Christ as her Savior and became a first-generation Seventh-day Adventist. Nadine recalls the evening when Elder Lyle Albrecht asked for people to come forward and give their hearts to the Lord. She stepped forward, cradling her newborn son in her arms.
Soon after her baptism, Nadine accepted the Lord’s call to work in children’s ministries, teaching many years in Sabbath School departments and Vacation Bible Schools. It was through these volunteer positions that the Lord called Nadine to be a Christian elementary teacher. Nadine graduated from Eastern University with a MAT in Multicultural education.
She is in her 21st year of teaching in both the Chesapeake and Pennsylvania conferences. Nadine has two adult children. Michael is a high school teacher at Taipei Adventist Academy in Taiwan. Her daughter, Jody Anna is a respiratory therapist at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Nadine enjoys spending time with family , friends, and loves animals. Her pet menagerie has delighted many of her students over the years.
Nadine’s favorite Bible verse is: Romans 1:17. “The righteous will live by faith.”
